Host a Snoot Doodler Pop Up

Hosting a Snoot Doodler Popup is a Win-Win!

Hosting Snoot Doodler is FREE for you. I make it easy and do most of the work! I just need an easy, accessible spot to set up.

Attract local dog lovers to your local event or business by hosting a Snoot Doodler Pop Up!

Reward your regular folks with a unique opportunity to commision one of a kind dog art for their furry best friend.

Gain the interest of passersby with a colorful, curious and shiny (but also tasteful) art attraction.

BONUS: I will promote your business/event to my Social Networks in the weeks and days before we collaborate.

We’ll give the people something positive to talk about, and that is always a good thing!

You’ve got questions? Great! I’ve got answers.

Artist

About me:

I am an artist specializing in dog portraits based near Temescal in Oakland, CA (near 55th + Dover). While I am based in the Bay Area of California, I am open to travel.

I focus on making art of dogs- drawings, paintings, other stuff as I feel inspired. My work is heartfelt and handmade, no AI slop coming from my artist-alter ego, Snoot Doodler.

As a child, I was always making something, dabbling in this or that. I have had little formal education around making art, just consumption of obnoxious amounts of tutorials and other folks doing their artistical thang on the socials and YouTube AND an insatiable desire to MAKE. Despite that I never imagined I would be able to pursue calling myself an artist, and especially to get paid to do it.

In November 2020, my partner and I lost our dog Pepper to renal dysplasia at about 4 years old. Pepper was some kind of terrier mix and brought a lot of joy to our lives in her short time with us.

As an attempt to process my grief over her loss (and all the chaos that was 2020), I started doing dog art as a means to keep “Pepper-Pepperonius” close. Her profile is honored in my Snoot Doodler logo. Don’t ask me about it directly, unless you want to see me cry. LOL

In making dog art, it is my hope that each subject will be captured for eternity in a unique format that honors and celebrates the connection between a dog and their human(s). As all dog owners can agree, dogs don’t live long enough. But for many of us, they leave a huge imprint on our hearts. In celebration of Pepper, Gabby, Lola, Friday, Skippy (my dogs) and all the dogs we love, let’s spread JOY!

My set up options:

10×10 Footprint

I have a 10×10 tent with a pink or blue top.  My tent also displays my large brand banner behind my set up.

Two 6′ tables + 2 folding chairs

I have merch (stickers, cards, prints, bookmarks, etc) to display and sell. There will samples of my commisionable artwork  on display (acrylic paint, acrylic pen, watercolor, digital line art).

If I am doing live art, I also bring a small table where I will do my painting/drawing.

deally, I would like to bring this set up for the event as it helps protect from the sun, and makes it easier to establish my foot print so I can move freely in my own space.

6×4′ Footprint

ONE 6’ table + 2 chairs and a 6’ teal sun canopy.

I have merch (stickers, cards, prints, bookmarks, etc) to display and sell. There will samples of my commisionable artwork  on display (acrylic paint, acrylic pen, watercolor, digital line art).

If I am doing live art, I also bring a small table where I will do my painting/drawing.

Non-negotiables:

If I will be set up outside, I require a shade from the sun. Auntie Doodler can’t work if she is baking in the direct sun.

What I can do for your event:

I can do any or all of the following-

1. 15-30 minute Live Drawing/painting of dogs

**The live part comes from me drawing/painting on the spot.

  • Dog can be on location or not – I work from a photo of the dog sent by the owner or one that I take.
  • Guests are asked to send info to me via digital form to create my art “queue.”
  • Guests are welcome to take video of the artwork as it happens.
  • Completed artwork happens on paper and/or approx 4×6 “ pre-prepared cardboard painted backpack grounds.
Cost: $35+ or Pay What You Want. I chose the pricing method that makes most sense at a venue. (This is the art fee paid by the purchasing customer. I process the payment.)
  • Sometimes there’s too many orders to do it all the same day- in these cases I work with the event venue/business to arrange a pick-up for completed work within 1-2 weeks. I have a whole process for this, to be explained as needed.

2. Dog treats + water bowl– I bring these for all the good dogs, asking before offering.

3. Bring Snoot Doodler Merch
likely to be stickers, cards, prints, etc.
I also display sample finished Snoot Doodler Works (as I also offer more time and resource intensive custom portraits to be completed off site).

4. Co-promote on Socials

  • I’ll provide you with a Google Drive folder of images you can use to promote Snoot Doodler on your social profiles.
  • I will post ONE time on my main Instagram feed and pin the post about our event.
  • I will subsequently post to my Instagram Stories starting 2 weeks out from the event, with more Stories posts coming as it gets closer to the event. I will TAG your business/event, if you have an account.
  • I appreciate shares of my IG Stories to your followers, and will try to do the same as appropriate.
  • I usually post during the event if I am doing Live Art of completed work.
  • I may post for a few days/week after the event to highlight if I had a great time at your event.
Where to find samples of my work + Follow UP
  • Or my website SnootDoodler.com (currently working on an update to show more recent work, but still gives an idea of my brand).
  • Here’s my digital catalog with samples of my commissionable art with styles/sizes/pricing
If you have questions, need more info- send me TEXT (231-629-2510). It’s the fastest way to get a response.

FAQs

Do you draw/paint cats, horses, humans?

Yes, I can make art of other animals/humans, but dogs are where my heart is. I only do live art for dogs on the spot, as that is what I am most practiced at. I can do other animals/humans on request, after clarifying what is desired/expected of the finished work.

Does it cost to host Snoot Doodler?

It does not cost to host Snoot Doodler, UNLESS I am not able to charge customers for merch/live art while I am at the event/business.

Where has Snoot Doodler been seen before?

I’ve hosted a Snoot Doodler popup at events and businesses such as:

  • Arts & Eats on Piedmont, Oakland
  • Feathered Outlaw Friday Market, Alameda
  • West Alameda Business Association’s Haloween Pet Costume & Parade, Alameda
  • Nick’s Pizza, Oakland

Can you do art at a dog or human’s birthday party?

I have not yet done that, but I would LOVE to be invited to do so! (This would be a cost to host type event – Starts at$500+.)
